This engraving of a salmon was featured in Count Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli's work on fish residing in the Danube River, which was in Tome IV of his richly illustrated work in six volumes containing much valuable historic and scientific information on the Danube. Marsigli, an Italian soldier and naturalist, is credited with discovering several new species of fish native to the Danube.


Condition: B

Wide margins with light toning and offsetting from the opposing text page. There is scattered foxing and a few short tears in blank margins, far from image.
