This is a very early edition of Rand McNally’s important Business Atlas. It contains 24 double-page and 23 single-page maps, along with 3 larger format linen-backed maps of Texas/Indian Territory, Illinois and California/Nevada which are bound within the text. The atlas appears to be missing 4 map sheets including Ontario, New York, Maryland/Delaware and Virginia/West Virginia. The atlas includes an 8 pp. index on the railroad network. Rebound in an attractive half leather binding with gilt title on spine. Folio, 234 pp.

Condition: C+

The maps are generally in fair to good condition. The title page, world and continent maps at the beginning of the atlas show the most damage including chips, marginal tears and creasing with some pages being repaired with archival tissue, including on the face of the U.S. map. Two of the three linen-backed maps are in good condition while the map of Texas has a large split at the centerfold intersection. The majority of the others maps are in good condition with a few marginal tears and light soiling. Covers and spine are in excellent condition.
