This charming miniature map covers the northwestern region of South America. The map is centered on the mythical Lac Parime ou Roponouuini with the golden city of Manoa el Dorado on its northern shore. Pierre Duval was Nicolas Sanson's nephew and pupil. He published a wide range of atlases and individual maps including a fine miniature world geography with many of the maps based on Sanson.

Watermarked paper with light toning along centerfold and a centerfold separation in bottom blank margin, far from map image, that has been closed on verso with archival tape.
