This lovely strapwork engraving centers on a globe with the Latin motto Non Ultra (Nothing Beyond) on a scroll banner above it. On the globe, North America is labeled Nueva Hispania and Terra de Bacalao. South America is labeled Peru, and is only separated from a large southern continent by a narrow strait. Atop the strapwork design sit twin Nikes, the winged Goddesses of Victory. Latin text on verso.
