This detailed map of the Ottoman Empire shows the extent of the empire from the Balkan peninsula through the Caspian Sea and from northern Africa through the Arabian Peninsula. The map is based on an earlier map by Sanson, with the original title cartouche at bottom partially covered by an inset depicting the kingdom of Algeria and the former country of Biledulgerid.

Original color on watermarked paper with a few faint spots and a minute wormhole in scale of miles cartouche. There is minor soiling in blank margins and a centerfold separation that enters 2" into map image at bottom that has been professionally repaired.
