This graphic bird's-eye plan shows the fortification of the city of Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. Nicolas de Fer held the title of Geographer at Louis XIV's court. He was one of the most prolific publishers of plans of European cities in the late seventeenth century.
There is a small worm track in the wide margin, well away from the map, and a few faint damp stains in blank margins.
