This school geography book is illustrated by 220 engravings and 33 maps. The maps are embedded in the text, and include 1 double-hemisphere world map, 24 maps of North America, and 8 maps of the rest of the world. The chapter "The Republic of Texas" includes two maps of the republic. The delightful, small engravings are scattered throughout the text and depict the people, animals and sites of various countries, as well as some historical events. Quarto, quarter leather over salmon-colored pictorial boards, 108 pp. Missing the removable global map that was issued with the book.

Condition: B

Maps are in very good to near fine condition, some with original outline color, others are black & white. Covers are worn with some loss of image, bumped corners and edges. Text has scattered foxing, and minor damp stains on last few pages. Page 19 has a chip in blank margin. Contents are tight and even.
