Fine copper engraved map of the region around Rome that extends from Lago di Bolsena to Gaeta. Rome is depicted in a block plan with its fortifications evident. Elegant script lettering, sailing ship and a sea monster embellish the sea. Two lovely cartouches further decorate this handsome chart, with the scale of miles cartouche decorated with the papal coat of arms of pope Urban VIII, known as Maffeo Barberini, with three bees surmounted by a papal tiara and crossed keys. German text on verso.
