These five beautiful steel engraved views are the result of surveys for potential railway routes conducted between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Ocean in 1854. Numerous landmarks are identified in each view. Based on drawings from W. Egloffstein, the views were engraved by C. Schumann and published by Selmar Siebert in Washington, D.C.
