Ruscelli based this map of the Low Countries on Gastaldi's edition of Ptolemy. It illustrates the lowlands of Holland very well and names Isole de Zilanda. It covers a wide region and includes part of England, France and Germany. Engraved in the Italian style with stippled seas. This is a later state with Nova erared from the title.
There is some printer's ink residue and a small spot of candle wax in the bottom border.
