Highly detailed chart of the Orkney Islands with north oriented to the right. A small portion of Scotland's north coast is shown, naming Catnesse, Dungisby Head and the dangerous rocks known as the Men of May. Filled with rhumb lines, compass rose, sailing ships, soundings, anchorages, and other nautical information. Large nautical and military theme dedication cartouche to Georg, Prince of Denmark, with a distance scale in English Miles at its bottom. Title in ribbon at top, and another drape-style cartouche with information on Scotland. Boldly engraved by Herman Moll.

Condition: B+

Strong, crisp impression. Small separation at centerfold in lower margin just into border, a faint printer's crease in lower right quadrant. Cartouches fully colored.
