This is the second state of this finely engraved map with the page number "197" at upper right outside the neatline. The map covers the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Newfoundland with excellent depiction of the fishing banks complete with soundings. Names Isle Royal, Anti-costi, shows part of Nova Scotia and locates the village of Sauvage.

Condition: A+

Fine example on fine, unfolded paper with very wide margins and large watermark. Delicate outline hand coloring in limited areas. Very early impression with crisp lines and some text layout lines still visible. Expertly repaired edge tear in blank margin.
