This is a classic fox hunting engraving from the renowned Rudolph Akermann. The image is in the highly desirable aquatint process. The foreground has a reluctant horse being urged by his rider to enter water. Nearby are several companion riders accompanied by several foxhounds with the English countryside in the background. The image of the horse is well rendered with great detail of the English saddle and bridle. Plate 5 is at upper right. From the original art by H. Alken, engraved by J. Harris.
Fine color, well defined platemark and wide margins on thick paper. In beautiful layered original hand coloring. The image is fine with no flaws save a light crease at right. The upper right tip of the paper has light stain, about 3" away from the image. The engraving has been framed in the past as evidenced by light acid burn on the verso.
