This is a large and finely engraved map with excellent detail throughout with all states delineated and named. In the West, the early transitional borders delineate only California and the large territories of New Mexico, Utah and Oregon. The central portion has the huge Northwest Territory occupying the northern portion, extending south all the way to Indian Territory. Alaska is Amerique Russe with the Aleutian Chain detailed in a large inset at lower left. The fine detail continues through the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. A beautiful and colorful map that notes Indian Tribes, town, forts, mountains and watershed and a good rending of the Rocky Mountains in hachure.
