This large decorative map provides excellent detail throughout Provence. These details are keyed to an extensive legend that includes roads, fortresses, abbeys, cloisters, castles, universities, courthouses, ports, five different sizes for towns, and much more. The beautiful title cartouche is enclosed in a garland with two putti flanking the royal arms and a river god at the base representing the great Rhone River. This is from Pierre Mortier's re-issue of De Wit's great atlas.
