1), by General Land Office, 1903, printed color, (17 x 20.5"). This colorful and fascinating map presents great detail of the territory just nine years before statehood. The extent of nine Indian reservations and at least four Military reservations, including Fort Apache, are clearly shown in different colors. Private claims, confirmed and unconfirmed, are outlined in red. The Grand Canyon Forest Reserve is shown. Brown hachured mountainous areas and the blue waterways combine to provide great visual impact. Details include watershed, mountains, railroads, wagon roads, private claims, unsurveyed townships, etc. This is the first map to name Sedona, here called Sedonia.

2), by General Land Office, 1908, printed color, (16.8 x 20.3"). The map presents a fascinating comparison to the first map published just five years earlier. The differences are significant. The map clearly shows Indian Reservations, Military Reservations (Fort Apache, Fort Grant, Fort Huachuca, and Fort Whipple) and Forest Reserves via different colors. A huge Grand Canyon Forest Reserve is shown and the new Petrified Forest National Monument (established in 1906) is located east of Holbrook. Details include watershed, mountains, railroads, wagon roads, private claims, unsurveyed townships, etc.

3)City of Phoenix, 1903, black & white, (6.3 x 22"). This is a rare and early half-tone photograph of the downtown portion of Phoenix. Locates Geo. H. Cook Jewelry, the Valley Meat Market, a hat and shirt shop, bicycle shop, a pharmacy and an office of the Los Angeles Daily Times.

4)Bisbee Mining Camp, The Home of the Copper Queen Mine and Works, 1903, black & white, (3 x 23"). This great panoramic half-tone photograph shows the town and works for the mine in the background. Terrific detail of individual buildings, the railroad station, etc. Together a very nice lot of Arizona interest from the first decade of the 20th Century.
