These original leaves are from a rare book containing the office of the Catholic Mass printed in Venice. This book was published during the period of transition from manuscript to printing and incorporates the illuminated manuscript tradition with woodcut illustrations within the large initials. This lot is a consecutive bifolium leaves with eight gothic woodcuts, include one of Christ on the cross. The text is printed in red and black ink and the woodcuts are colored by hand.
There are a couple tiny worm holes and minor stains in the blank margins.
