This lovely map covers central Italy including Tuscany and the Papal State. It is richly decorated with a sea battle, fishing boats, a spouting sea monster, and elaborate cartouches. The title cartouche depicts the Pope with the Saints Peter and Paul, the distance scale includes the Papal coat of arms with cherubs, and the dedication cartouche signed by Henricus Hondius is engraved on a banner held aloft by a pair of putti.
