This interesting and uncommon map of the 'Old World' shows only those parts of the world known to the ancients. It shows most of Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa. A small inset shows the complete African continent. The continental outlines are according to 18th century knowledge with interiors reflecting Ptolemaic models and very few place names. At bottom is a view of the Tower of Babel under construction.
