This map covers the Turkish Empire at the height of the Ottoman Empire, from the Balkans to Persia and from Northern Africa through the Arabian Peninsula. It is embellished with a fine cartouche showing the Turkish Sultan on his throne and allegorical figures at either side brandishing weapons. A second dedication cartouche incorporates a coat of arms. Sailing ships can be seen in the Mediterranean and Arabian Seas. French text on verso.

Condition: C

Fine original color. The map is toned overall and the centerfold is separated for the bottom half of the map with an old linen (water soluble) repair on verso. There are some tears in the bottom blank margins with old paper repairs on verso. This is normally a $800-900 map, so it would be well worth some simple conservation.
