This is a great regional map of the environs of Lutherstadt Wittenberg in eastern Germany. Centered on Wittenberg, seat of the Elector of Saxony, and the Elbe River. The vicinity is graphically depicted with an extensive key providing an explanation of the many symbols used throughout the map. The elaborate title cartouche features several Muses, the coat of arms and Pegasus. The map is flanked by indexes.
Original color. The margins have been trimmed but are adequate for framing, with brown paper on the verso edges from a previous framing.
