This stunning map of France shows the country divided into four areas controlled by the four "Secretaires d'Estat." The secretaries are listed as the Comte de Maurepas, Comte de Morville, Comte de St. Florentin and the Marqs. de Breteiul. The legend locates churches, abbeys, universities, Parliament, and more. Beautifully engraved, the map is further decorated with a large title cartouche featuring angels and France's coat-of-arms, plus a wreath-sytle distance cartouche with seven distance scales and Jaillot's imprint.
