"[Lot of 2] Tab. V. De Architectura Marina [and] Tab. IX. Von der Artillerie", Hubner, Jacob
Period: 1760 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
9 x 7.5 inches
22.9 x 19.1 cm
This pair of small Dutch engravings illustrate a variety of military hardware. The first is based on Seutter's great description of a three-masted 96 gun man-o-war. The rendering includes a fine view of the ship with detailed diagrams of its equipment, construction, rigging, cutaway detail of the decks, etc. The second illustrates several different types of canon and artillery.
First very good. Second with some printer's ink smudges, else very good.
