Nice lot of copper engraved illustrations from the New Testament, with captions in Dutch text. The Books of Matthew, Mark, John and Revelations are represented. The pictures were drawn and engraved by the famous Dutch artist Romain de Hooghe, published by Jacob Lindenberg. Some sheets with two scenes on each plate.

1) Mattheus shows scenes from the book of Matthew, including the birth of Jesus and his baptism by John the Baptist, with scenes from the rest of the Gospel surrounding the main scenes.
2) Mattheus shows scenes from the book of Matthew, showing his transfiguration before Peter, John and James, and Jesus' betrayal by Judas.
3) Marcus is a page with Mark the Evangelist in the central scene, surrounded by vignettes of his Gospel.
4) Joannes shows scenes from the book of John depicting the raising of Lazarus, with a scene of the Crucifixion on the bottom.
5) Openbaaring van Joannes shows scenes from the book of Revelations.
6) Openbaaring van Joannes shows scenes from the book of Revelations, depicting the judging of the dead.
