This handsome depiction of the environs of the Black Sea in classical times is filled with ancient place names and titled also in Greek. The cartography is based on Ortelius' map of the same title and engraved by Pieter van den Keere. The map is beautifully ornamented with sailing ships and a decorative title cartouche.
