A handsome, decorative sea chart of the English Channel engraved by Francis Lamb. The map shows soundings, hazards, and anchorages along the coast of France, Cornwall, Wales, and a portion of Ireland. The large title cartouche incorporates the trumpeting angel of fame, two putti and two coats of arms. Three scales of miles are enclosed in a cartouche in the lower right.
A sound sheet with a few faint spots in the map and some printer's creases on the bottom. The blank margins have some chipping and short tears, with the lower margin reinforced on the centerfold with archival tape.
