This is Part III of Congress' report to the President. The book is the full report by Charles T. Jackson, U.S. Geological Surveyor of the mineral lands of…Michigan. This complete example contains 27 folding maps, woodcuts and sectional views. Many of the mine sectionals feature finely rendered vignette views of the mine works or an inset plan of the area around the mine. Includes Geological Map of Keweenaw Point, Lake Superior; Geological Map of Isle Royale (two different examples of the first two ); Geological Map of the District Between Keweenaw Bay and Chocolate River; Geological Map of the District Between Portage Lake and Montreal River and several more. Includes the engraving "Birds Eye View of Copper Harbour." In original brown calf with black and red labels to spine, gilt titling. 4to, pp. 371-935.
Contents and maps generally good to very good, some with a little foxing. Covers slightly rubbed and a couple small worm holes at spine edge.
