A finely engraved map produced during a time of transition in the way maps were colored. This map features hand applied watercolor for the full wash areas with block printed lines for the boundaries. The map is dissected into 20 parts, backed on linen and folds into cloth covers with printed label, "London Atlas Map of North America." There is no date on the map, but the latest Atlantic cable is noted as have been laid in 1903. The map extends to include all of Greenland and Alaska as well as the entire West Indies. Cover is in green cloth with original paper labels on front and inside front cover. The segmented map has a label on the last panel.

Condition: A

Slight toning with bright color and full margins. The covers are in nice condition less the spine which is sunned resulting in hardening to the cloth with splits.
