A complete and fine example of this wonderful atlas features tipped in maps and fancy borders. Complete with 64 wax engraved maps, including 16 double-page maps. All states and territories are represented with 39 maps of U.S. interest. Other charts include Flags of the World, five thematic charts, types of the Races of Men, several pages of portraits, and a most interesting 'improvements of the century' page with numerous engravings showing the plow, sewing machine, electric light, wheat thrashing machine, a locomotive, and more. Title page, contents, list of the population of cities, 12 pp. Hardbound with brown cloth, with deluxe embossing and gilt titling and red fore-edge. A very nice example.
Contents are fine, clean and bright with no flaws. Covers are very good with virtually no wear to the bright gilt, just some rubbing at edges, corners bumped and spine sunned and rubbed.
