This attractive and unusual map of the world is presented on Mercator's projection. The interesting topography is rather speculative, particularly in the American West where a number of mountain ranges converge at a point named Quelle des Missuri. The shorelines of Australia and New Zealand are fully delineated. There are notes from various explorations throughout the map.
Original outline color on light blue French paper with a small repaired wormhole in the blank area off the Indian Ocean. The margins have some light soil and a couple binding holes.
