Superb large chart from this scarce nineteenth century atlas that extends to include Greenland and Iceland. The map is filled with an impressive array of information illustrating the physical and geographical divisions, colonial possessions in the Caribbean, roads, canals, railways, forts, mines and the plant and mineral distributions. The map is flanked with side panels containing numerous meticulously engraved vignettes representing the various industries and peoples of the different countries and regions.

Original color with faint damp stains in the blank margins. There are a couple of light spots in map, still overall very good. Archival tape repair on marginal tear in top right corner, not affecting map, and tissue reinforcement of lower margin.
