A large, handsome map of ancient Greece that is based on Nicolas Sanson's work. This example includes Crete and the smaller islands, Asia Minor and the Turkish coast. Numerous place names, cities, villages and topography are shown. A lovely decorative title cartouche and a pair of distance scales embellish the map.

A couple spots away from map and two small printers creases. A nice example on fine paper with original margins and large watermark with star and crescent moon and makers name.
