A handsome map shows European Russia from the Gulf of Finland to the Caspian Sea, with a portion of present-day Kazakhstan. The map is centered roughly on Novgorod, with topography and cities noted pictorially. The map is graced with a delicately engraved cartouche. Published by Pierre Mariette, engraved by A. Peyrounin.
A cleanly engraved map on a sheet that has been remargined to the neatline at top. The right margin is chipped and has been reinforced on the verso. There is a repaired tear at the lower right that just touches the neatline.
