A very detailed bird's-eye view of the fortified city of Basel, on both sides of the Rhine, filled with details down to individual streets and buildings, bridges, towers and churches. Two legends locate 42 buildings; one for each bank of the Rhine. A striking city crest decorates upper corner, and a simple compass orients right to the lower left.
