This exquisite limited edition contains l7 unbound folio facsimile maps with an opulent book tucked into a slipcase portfolio. Accompanied by an in-depth volume, 92 pp. by an international team of map scholars and historians. The Portolan described it as "magnificent, both in content and form - a sumptuous work and a feast for the eye and mind." Named Book of the Year and awarded ForeWord Magazine's 1998 Editor's Choice Prize for Non-Fiction.
