These are really delightful and charming engravings that depict interesting landscapes and views of towns. One plate, The Custom House, Dublin, depicts the busy port teeming with ships and people with the impressive Custom House in the background. The beautifully engraved title page includes a vignette of Dangan Castle. Two title pages, 27 tissue-guarded, steel engravings and a map of Ireland. After the map, is the title page for volume II, the contents for vol. I and binder's directions. Hardbound in original embossed and gilt illustrated covers. Bartlett's romantic pictorial style was certainly appropriate for the haunting and mysterious landmarks of Ireland.
