This example is the first state, and is an early American-produced copper engraved map that was published in the first edition of Scott's United States Gazetteer. Shown here are numerous place names, rivers, lakes, the location of Niagara Falls and Forts Niagara, Schlosser and Erie. Southern Canada is called "British Territory".
