This is Butler's well known atlas of the ancient world. This complete atlas features 20 double page, hand colored maps and one double page plate with four small uncolored maps, each bound with stubs. The extensive index lists place names based on the authority of ancient and classical authors. Published by Carey & Lea. Three quarters red calf and marbled paper-covered boards., 34 pp. 8vo.

Condition: B

Leather binding is rubbed and has a small separation at the bottom, corners bumped. Boards show heavy rubbing with some loss. Previous owner's name in pencil inside front cover, another in ink at top of title page away from text. Text and maps generally good with some toning and foxing. A couple maps with slight binding separations otherwise a tightly bound atlas.
