A matched pair of polar hemispheric maps with very lovely coloring and crisp, early impressions. The southern hemisphere is filled with the tracks of various explorers including those of Captains Cook, Wallis, and Carteret. Antarctica is not delineated, rather the area is labeled "Firm Fields and vast Mountains of Ice." The northern hemisphere names the explorations of Berent, Capt. Phips, Capt. Cook, Mackenzie, and Hearne. Fancy lettering in titles.
