Rare little Ptolemaic map centered on India with recognizable river systems, but completely lacking the sub continental shape of the landmass. The top of a large Taprobanae Pars (Sri Lanka) appears at bottom. The map is presented on a trapezoidal projection with rope-like mountain ranges and strange creatures in the border, one of them being a bird with the face of a man. Italian text on verso.
