The colors indicate the trolley service provider - Phila. Traction Co., Peoples Traction Co., Electric Traction Co., or the Hestonville, Mantua & Fairmount Pass. R.R. Co. The map folds into gilt-stamped cloth covers with the title "Smith's Map of Philadelphia Trolley Lines." Published by J.L. Smith, Map Publishers, 27 South Sixth Street in Philadelphia. With fine advertising label on inside cover showing a Smith salesman selling maps.
Map has some fold intersection splits and a few fold separations. The top horizontal fold has some long splits without loss and easy to repair, else very good. The covers are a little rubbed with two light stains.
