A complete and lovely example of this wonderful atlas features tipped-in maps with fancy borders. Complete with 64 wax engraved maps; it includes 16 double-page maps. All states and territories are represented with 39 maps of U.S. interest. Other charts include Flags of the World, five thematic charts, types of the Races of Men, several pages of portraits, and more. Copyright of 1883, but dated 1885 on the cover. Title page, contents, list of the population of cities, index, 200 pp. Hardbound in original brown cloth, embossing and gilt titling on the cover. With the attention of a binder this atlas will be mint.

Contents near fine. Binding rubbed and stained, spine sunned. Front cover starting. Short marginal tear to blank end paper and title page.
