Finely engraved and detailed map that covers all of the region from the Baltic Sea across Siberia and south into China including Korea, Japan and Formosa. Decorative cartouche contains an archer and bear. A less elaborate cartouche at upper left is titled "Annae Magna Vietrici Russorum Imperatrici..." and features a tribute to Anna I (Anna Ivanovna) of Russia, the daughter of Ivan V and the niece of Peter the Great. Plus a third cartouche contains three distance scales in a rococo style border. This is a revised edition of a 1730 map with the secondary cartouche revised. The 1739 date appears below the bottom neatline.
Dark impression and fine original color. The two main titles are lightly printed, toned along centerfold.
