Bold plan portrays the extensive fortifications of Aire and the nearby Fort St. Francis with an inset plan of St. Venant. The chart is oriented with northwest at top by a decorative compass rose. Engraved by Isaac Basire. Title in decorative cartouche is, "Aire A very strong City and Castle in the Low Countries, in the Earldom of Artois, taken by the Allies in 1710, but restor'd to the French by the Treaty of Utrecht."
