This handsome small map was derived from the Nicolas Visscher map of 1658, with a Briggs type island of California. A depiction of the discoveries of the De Vries voyage appears in the water north of Japan, and Tasman's discoveries are shown in New Zealand. This later edition has revised the earlier Blaeu type Great Lakes basin to eliminate the single open-ended lake, which now appears as a semi-circular river. Drape style title cartouche held by a cherub. Without engraver's imprint.

References: Burden #360, state 3 and McLaughlin #25, state 5.
