These three maps all relate to the early planning of a waterway suitable for safe navigation from Green Bay (Ft. Howard and Astor) to the Mississippi River. The set includes: 1) Map of the Neenah or Fox River and the proposed Canals from Fond du Lac to Rock River and the Wiskonsin (26.2x 21"); 2) Map of the Neenah or Fox River, With the proposed improvements for the navigation (14.5 x 12.5"); 3) Two maps on one sheet - Map of the Route for a Canal to avoid the principal rapids of the Neenah or Fox River between Lake Winnebago & Green Bay and Map of the Wiskonsin & Neenah or Fox Rivers, by Capt. Cram 1839 (overall 17.4 x 22.5"). Great set of map of the region. Locates Scalp Village, Kentucky City, Fond-du-lac, portage roads, beaver dams, rapids and chutes along rivers, Astor (Green Bay), Dekorree, Madison, Arena, and much more.
