Pair of interesting maps of the region showing two different locations for the Garden of Eden. The first, per the theories of Mr. Huet, shows a larger area with Eden located south of Babilone (present-day Baghdad) just north of the Persian Gulf. The second map, according to Mr. Calmet, shows Paradise located in present-day Armenia near Mount Ararat. Both were drawn and engraved by P. Starckman with attractive title cartouches and compass roses.
Overall near fine with sharp impressions. Each is trimmed nearly to neatline on one side, as issued. Second has had that margin extended.
