Handsome map covering the Old World with up-to-date continental outlines but showing the geography and place names according to the classical sources. Shows several landmasses north and northwest of the British Isles, all unnamed save for Thule I. In Asia the mythical Lake Chiamai is shown but unnamed, Japan is labeled Labady I., the Philippines are Sabadibae Insulae, Java is Sindae Insulae and Sumatra is called Bonae Fortunae I. In Africa the Niles rises from twin lakes south of the equator. A blank landmass with incomplete coastlines appears in the location of Australia.
