"[Lot of 2] Atlas Historique Tome 7 [and] Suplement a l'Atlas Historique… Tome VII", Chatelain, Henry Abraham

First is a superb engraving with a group of beautiful young women and an angel studying geography and history. It appears that the Grim Reaper has abducted one of the girls and is taking her to heaven where a pantheon of ancient gods awaits in the clouds. The engraving is attributed to B. Picart and the sheet is dated 1721. Second is a handsome text title page printed in red and black and dated 1732. With a small (4.5 x 3.3") copper engraved decorative panel featuring cherubs also engraved by B. Picart.

The former has a very early and crisp engraved line. Full margins. A little marginal soiling. The latter is near fine with just a couple tiny spots.
