Terrific copper engraving with 13 different globes, armillary spheres and planetary system theories described. Includes the planetary systems of Copernicus, Ptolemy, views of the moon and sun plus views that explain the phases of the moon, and eclipses of the moon and the sun. The imaginative view of the sun inlcudes mountains, volcanoes, and a large sea.

Crisp, dark impression on thick hand laid paper with original margins and watermark. Later, well applied color.
